ABC World News Tonight Live Feeds

I tried a similar post on the Phoenix TV board
on Tuesday evening but had no responses, so I'll
give it a follow-up shot here with additional
info. Bear with me as it takes a bit of set up.

The ABC News site still links to their December
press release which mentions the WNT live feeds
will be (are now) at 6:30, 8:30 and 9:30pm ET.

At the end of the KNXV-TV Phoenix 5:00pm news
on Tuesday, the anchor inferred that the upcoming
WNT broadcast at 5:30 MT would be live. I kind of
doubt it, at least on a normal basis. ABC could
have done a 4:30 PT/5:30 MT live feed on Tuesday
and Wednesday due to bowl games which followed at
5:00 PT/6:00 MT.

Today (Friday) just before 5:30, the KNXV anchor
again mentioned that WNT is the only live newscast
in the western U.S. (or words to that effect).
Sounds kind of like one of those half-truths that
politicians utter so often--not an outright lie
perhaps, but misleading at best.

I don't think what KNXV aired today at 5:30 MT was
live, especially since the live shots in the first
two stories had "Live ET" fonts on them. Seems to
me that this was the 6:30 ET feed recorded at 4:30,
or perhaps the 7:00 ET refeed of the first show,
assuming ABC still does that.

If you've read this far, I'd like to hear from any
MCOs at ABC affils, especially in the Mountain or
Pacific time zones who can give the correct scoop.

Is the press release info still valid?

Does ABC still refeed the 6:30 ET show at 7:00 ET
(and do more than a handful of stations air it then)?

And for the left coast, since they are now live
at 5:30 and 6:30 PT, do they refeed the 5:30 show
at 6:00 PT?

After that press release came out, the AP sent out a story based on the release, then later the AP ran a correction...

In a Dec. 5 story about the appointment of new
anchors for ABC's "World News Tonight," The Associated Press reported
erroneously that NBC anchorman Brian Williams is 47. He is 46. In
early versions of the story, AP reported erroneously that ABC will
offer live broadcasts of "World News Tonight" in three time zones:
Eastern, Central and Pacific. The correct time zones are Eastern,
Mountain and Pacific. Also in early versions, relying on an ABC press
release, AP reported that the new anchors and telecasts will begin
Jan. 2. The network later corrected the start date to Jan. 3.

AP doesn't give any times, but live casts to Eastern, Mountain, and Pacific would indicate 6:30, 7:30, and 9:30 ET. (which would mean live to all four times zones since Eastern and Central take the same live feed, and both versions of the AP story are wrong!)
 
So, there is a Mountain timezone feed then?

Thanks for the updated infomation. So I guess we have a feed for the mountain time zone(I don't watch ABC News, but I'm curious!) then?

As for the question as to who carries WNT at 7 PM (ET),
I can think of just three stations: WSB/2 Atlanta, WSET/13
Roanoke/Lynchburg, VA, and WNCF/32 Montgomery, AL (6 PM CT).
Whether ABC refeeds these I don't know, nor do I know about
the stations running WNT at 6 (PT).

Since ABC has not updated/changed this item,
where did AP get info for their "correction"
which alleged the live MT feed?

From previous discussions about the percentage
of viewers in the Mountain vs. Pacific zones,
ABC would better serve a larger potential
audience with two live PT feeds rather than
one MT and one PT.
