ABC15: the Place with More Stuff!

As one of the 9 faithful KNXV Morning Daybreak watchers, I turned on this morning to find Rebecca Thomas and Jenn Burgess doing news, Kaley O'Kelley doing weather, and Andi Barness doing traffic. Great stuff, no pun intended!

Jon Du Pre is probably on vacation, but it was a nice surprise to see an all-female news team.

Jenn anchored the Sunday Daybreak yesterday, too! What a great way to wake up on Sunday morning! :D

And certainly better than listening to Carey Pena's lisp (painful!) over on 3TV, sitting in for Brian Webb, or Melissa Gonzalo's strange enunciations on 12 News.

Ah yes. I watch Ms. Gonzalo on Sundays and find that she is Must-Listen TV. On 15 July she said 'Britain' and it didn't sound exactly right.

However, on the same broadcast I heard Brahm Resnik go into a Canuck flashback and almost said 'aboot' instead of 'about.'

And don't forget Joe Dana's clumsy interactions with live reporters, live interviewees, his co-anchor...basically with anything that breathes. I watch 12 News Saturday Morning just to see how he is going to put his foot in his mouth. ;D

As for Ms. Gonzalo, I always think of Mary Kim Titla -- who would have been the weekend am co-anchor -- if she had stayed with 12 News. I believe that Mary Kim would have made an excellent anchor.

Any chance that ABC15 would start a Saturday AM newscast...

So after several weeks, it seems that ABC15 is sticking with an all-female morning newscast. I think it's a great idea.
