Western Mass. publisher John Gormally is purchasing WGGB-TV from Sinclair. If the feds approve he'll take control in the fall.

At least it gets ABC40 away from Sinclair, whose ultraright worldview makes Fox look like the Boy Scouts.

ABC 40 carries Divorce Court, Cristina's Court, Judge Alex, The Insider, and Family Feud. Typically those shows air on FOX, CW, and/or MNT affiliates.

I don't know if you remember, but WGGB had a limited FOX affilliation back when FOX gained the NFC games CBS used to carry, which can explain why they program their station a la FOX. Let's see if they local ownership can help their agonizing news department compete with WWLP.

It may be a stretch (especially with Clear Channel's involvement), but it would be nice to restore the WHYN calls to channel 40.
