Just noticed it on the 10 o'clock news. Doesn't look bad--they're probably prepping up for the street level news set which opens up this fall. What's your take?

Looks slightly more current and professional, yet not a drastic change... I can't complain, though I think the music doesn't match it well and could use an update.

I think the graphics look very slick. The first thing I thought was "oh my God, their preping to go HD".
Maybe it is just me, but the new graphics have the "look" of HD style graphics. It may just be wishful thinking, but that's the first thing I thought.

I have mixed feelings on the bug. I liked their old one. The yellow swoosh..i donno just doesnt do it for me. WBBM and WMAQ have simple bugs. BUT its like a Chicago thing. All Chicago stations have bugs. NY doesnt have bugs except for the morning. They are transparent with no time/temp. For me i like it, it comes in handy.
As for the graphics. I LOVE THEM! You can still see some elements of their old packages. Its just an update.
Now question is.... Will they keep these graphics and music going into their new Street level studios in november, OR will they change everything?? Next few months will be interesting in chicago.

I would guess they would keep these graphics for the new street level studio. They had their old graphics for over four years. My guess is their feeling is new graphics and a new set at the same time might be too much for the audience. So they're introducing new graphics now and new set later. Has anyone noticed the opens with the anchor intros that there's people walking behind in the background? I agree I like the new graphics (except the way the letter "Q" looks), but the bug is annoying and looks really bad on the rebroadcast.

My guess is their feeling is new graphics and a new set at the same time might be too much for the audience. So they're introducing new graphics now and new set later. Thought my tv screen was frying out
<font color=3333ff>I got scared as I just turned on the rebroadcast. I thought the bottom right corner of my screen was going out. I swiched to 8 and then 6 just to make sure it was only on 7!
The gold swoosh fading to black (bug) is extreme. It also seems to be a distraction to me. I don't like it. I don't believe it will last either. I'm waiting to see Feder's emails around the desk on this one heh.
