"Mr. Sunshine"

No relation to the short-lived 1986 sitcom, which was also on ABC. See:

Glad to see they are bringing back The Middle.
I suspect this show will have a short run though, as the kids are going to
very quickly grow out of their parts.

I'm glad it's back too although I think it might have a longer run than you think.

The older brother has, at best, a bit part in most episodes. His "going off to welding school" won't hurt much.

The sister is already 17 in real life and plays a girl several years younger. I think she can put in a few more years as a "mid-teen" and not ruin her credibility.

The youngest brother obviously has a long way to go but to do that successfully will require filling out his character. It will be up to the writers to do that successfully.

Well it appears Flash forward has been officially cancelled.

Or, to put it another way, "Flash Forward" has been put on permanent pause.

I saw the trailer for "No Ordinary Family" and this could be one of ABC's breakout hits.

However, I'm more concerned about "Better Together." They should've picked up "The New Adventures of Old Christine" and put that in the Wednesday 8:30/7:30 PM slot.

I wonder if the success of "Modern Family" was a factor in ABC greenlighting a show called "No Ordinary Family"... how redundant can you get?

No. They didn't pick a show up because the name happened to be similar to an entirely different series. It doesn't work that way.

Fair enough. But, whatever they do....please please PLEASE....
NO COUSIN OLIVER or SEVEN BUNDY!!!!!

Whatever became of ol' Shane Sweet? ???

And to imhomerjay: Of course, networks don't make knee-jerk decisions like the one I described, but it's a huge coincidence. I think about the game show "rush" back when "Millionaire" in its first run was popular. They wheeled out Dick Clark to do a new game show for CBS. But of course, those are two completely different situations...

ABC is, again, a swing and a miss.

The only show I'll be watching is "The Middle". Wifey will probably watch "Desperate Housewives" even though that show has gone completely off the tracks. It's tough to watch a grown woman cry. :'(

Many a show has had "family" somewhere in the title.

Indeed the game show craze is different, as this is two different genres that happen to share a common--in several senses--word.
