ABC's Nashville affilliate (WKRN) pulls "V" off the schedule for three weeks...

ABC's Nashville affilliate (WKRN) pulls "V" off the schedule for three weeks...

Instead of the upcoming updated Sci-Fi Miniseries Drama, WKRN plans to show The Hour-Long Jeff Fisher show instead. And apparently things are looking so bad for the winless Titans, as they continue to suck with Collins and Young at QB. I might have a feeling Fisher's Job could be in some serious jeopardy.

Ok...but why is WKRN-DT not airing the above show instead? Content of the show? Something like that?

WKRN is showing the program during the overnight I believe...

Re: ABC's Nashville affilliate (WKRN) pulls "V" off the schedule for three weeks...

Apparently, Reruns of "V" might be available online at abc.com or hulu.com for those in Nashville who have missed out on the first chapter. The series itself is rated TV-14, for mostly violence, and furthermore The first Tuesday of November also happens to be Election Day.

Re: ABC's Nashville affilliate (WKRN) pulls "V" off the schedule for three weeks...

WKRN's Young sister station in Green Bay, WBAY is doing the same thing, same situation, except their show is called "Tuesday Night Touchback" (but without any official Packers connections, though respectable ratings) and has been in the 7pm timeslot for years since ABC was putting sitcoms on that were pretty much awful, and "Wife Swap". They moved it to pre-primetime when "Dancing with the Stars" ran from 7pm-9pm local time, but with "Shark Tank" starting up the year they moved "TNT" back into primetime.

On WBAY they moved it to Saturday after the 10pm news. I would suspect if the ratings are awesome for V though, the next week WBAY may be moving their football show to 6:30pm (there's nobody that would complain at all; dead show walking "The Insider" is currently doing bupkis for WBAY at 6:30pm, where the CBS and Fox stations rule the roost with ET and Wheel of Fortune, respectively).

WKRN was running a crawl yesterday indicating "V" would be on early Tuesday morning.

There are no significant elections in the Nashville area on Tuesday.

"V" will air "live" at 7pm Tuesday on WKRN DT-2.

Well, now that the Titans are off the schneid, maybe WKRN will commit to giving Fisher a regular Tuesday night show for the remainder of the season!

In Houston, We have a real big race between 3 Major Candidates (P. Brown, Locke, & Parker-All of them Democrat) and 1 Minor Republican (Roy Morales) for the right to replace outgoing City Mayor Bill White. It'll be so tough to call after Tuesday... because we'll all be voting.

Nashville WX has also been running a crawl, saying that their usual weather information will be interrupted for "V" for the next three Tuesday evenings.

Re: ABC's Nashville affilliate (WKRN) pulls "V" off the schedule for three weeks...

And as I predicted earlier this week for the Green Bay situation, after getting in the ratings and many viewer complaints...

WBAY is moving their football talk show to The Insider 6:30pm slot, halve it, and air "V" live at 7pm the rest of the month.

I think it was more in WBAY's case being cautious about the ratings and hoping they did well; now that they know viewers will actually tune in, they'll stomach the complaints of the four viewers following the Jon & Kate/Octomom sagas via The Insider and satisfy both the football and sci-fi fans :D.

Now the ball is in the court of WKRN. They have to find a solution now with great ratings for "V", and complaints about the station now leeching into the national ratings analysis blogs. WBAY managed to stay pretty much with their complaints stuck on local sites in NE Wisconsin and actually responding to Twitter queries about the pre-emption; it's downright ugly on WKRN-associated Facebook pages right now.

Re: ABC's Nashville affilliate (WKRN) pulls "V" off the schedule for three weeks...

Now that WBAY has made this move for "V" vis a vis the Packers show, it's only a matter of time for WKRN to make the same move. Think about it: The Packers are above .500... while the Titans are 1-6. What would you do?

I'd put Fisher on NashvilleWX, or better yet, just cancel the Fisher show all together! Who would miss him? ::)

I'm thinking if they just need to keep Fisher so badly at 7pm on 2.1, bump up V to 8 and DWTS to 9pm, and let those few diehards still watching The Forgotten find it post-Kimmel.

It seems simple...but stations never do simple (and who knows if ABC would ever let them do it?). Problem is if you do it that way you then get the dancing fans whining they can't watch it live, but does it matter when it's a three-second announcement stretched to 62 minutes?
