ABC'S "WORK IT"

I thought I'd check this show out and it was better than I had expected. They had me
laughing about 10 times (which is good for a comedy.....especially a pilot). The writing
seemed to be good and I think they can keep it up. LOOK OUT WEDNESDAY NIGHT.

This seems to be an update of Bosom Buddies and I found it a bit more believable than
the older series.

I also watched it, but saw most of the funny parts during the previews.

I think Work It will be interesting, as long as the 2 worlds never meet. If Lee's wife starts showing up at the office as the "best friend" or Angel starts dating boss Vanessa, the show is doomed.

Bosom Buddies was a great show, but them dressing up was almost secondary to everything else. I think they were seen more as Kip & Henry than Buffy and Hildy, especially after they were "outed" in the second season.

If they can't get a better lead-in than "Last Man Standing" it will be tough.

So far, IMHO, there has been only one episode of LMS worth watching. That ain't good.

I think this type of show will always struggle at the start. As I remember Bosom Buddies
wasn't a hit right off the bat and was almost cancelled........Wikipedia says they only have
37 episodes, I thought they had more.

On BB the "girls" looked like twins of the guys and you'd have to be blind not to notice it. On
this show, so far, the "girls" are only in the working world which is separate from their home life.

I thought Angel was really funny.

The funniest joke to me had nothing to do with the show's premise. The first guy said to his wife that if she didn't want to celebrate with him and his friends, he'd wake her up for sex when he got home. See, that's funny because guys have no clue.

In the real business world, the employer receives info from Social Security including legal gender.

That's one more such episode than "Man Up!" ::)

It's so bad. OK I can deal with the fact the men don't even come close to looking like women. That makes sense for the comedy element of it. But it's so formula. You have to have the handsome white guy, the light skin black guy, throw in the fact the black is Puerto Rican and that gives you another minority, then the slub buddy.

And you have the typical stuff, the guy is a jerk and is going to learn about how bad he is to his wife by becoming a woman. Why can't we have a show where the women dress as men and learn how tough men have it? I guess dressing up as a man isn't funny enough?

Anytime you have to have two prostate jokes in the first 3 minutes it's not a good thing. I mean is THIS the best thing they can come up with? I don't understand why they can't find better ideas. As I said, before, I can go to YouTube and in 5 minutes search and come up with people who have better comedy videos. Are the suits not even trying?

I am not expecting another "Cheers," "Mary Tyler Moore" or "Seinfeld," but this isn't even up to the "Small Wonder" or other 80s syndicated sitcom stuff.
