Aboriginal Voices radio silent in Ottawa

CKAV-9 @ 95.7 has been silent for a week now. I'm not sure if it's silent nationwide or not. The website is also gone. Can anyone in any of the other cities that they're supposedly licensed to confirm if they are on or off air?

Personally I don't see it as a huge loss since they did very very little to promote aboriginal culture and music. The exception being spoken word Sundays. The rest of the time it was an ipod ho0ked to a transmitter.

Calgary 88.1 is still happening too according to a post on RadioWest. Perhaps Ottawa is just experiencing technical issues?

None of the artists on that website look native, don't they?

Have you seen their playlists? 8P

Nothing tells a story of the First Nations like "A Hard Days Night" by The Beatles, "Unforgettable" by Nat King Cole, "Born on the Bayou" by CCR and the Run DMC vs. Aerosmith version of "Walk This Way".

The playlist has "I-Pod on shuffle" written all over it.
