About Buck Paulson

Unfortunately, I can't watch 'Painting With Paulson' 'cuz neither my PBS stations nor Create carry the program at this time. I have been able to catch his 'Painting Concepts' shorts on youtube.com.

It is my understanding that like Heiner Hurtling, he also uses M. Graham brand of paints. Here are his palette(s) as I have witnessed:

ACRYLIC PALETTE
- Alizarin Crimson
- Naphthol Red
- Cadmium Yellow
- Permanent Green Light
- Ultramarine Blue
- Dioxazine Purple
- Payne's Gray
- Titanium White

OIL PALETTE
- Alizarin Crimson
- Cadmium Orange
- Yellow Ochre
- Cadmium Yellow (Light?)
- Permanent Green Light
- Viridian
- Phthalocyanine Green
- Turquoise
- Phthalocyanine Blue
- Ultramarine Blue
- Dioxazine Purple
- Quinacridone Rose
- Van Dyke Brown
- Burnt Umber
- Raw Sienna
- Payne's Gray

Of course, these are not his complete palettes. I'm sure there are some acrylic paints that I missed, and there are some oil colors that I couldn't identify:

- A bright red (probably Naphthol Red or Cad Red Light, or maybe both)
- A pale yellow in PC 504 and located at the corner of the palette below Yellow Ochre, and to the left of Cad Orange... Was that a pure color out of the tube or a mixture? (Look up 'Painting Concepts 504:Making Use Of Nature')
