About FOX 28's new morning news program....

If there's gonna be a news show from 7-9am on Cedar Rapids' FOX 28, will this program also be on Des Moines' FOX 17? Also, what will become of the 'Littles'/'Inspector Gadget' package, since it won't be able to air at 8am anymore once this news program starts....

From what I've heard, it will not air on FOX 17, and I've heard that Eadie Fawcett will be anchoring, and that the weather anchor will be a "big surprise".

I was thinking Dave Towne
 
I wouldn't be surprised if it was Dave Towne considering the fact that his AMS seal has been renewed and he isn't working anywhere currently, so Dave most likely the "big surprise"

Where can one find the true source about this new program and who the anchors are going to be. Did it come from newspaper? other media?

Well if all this is true, the show already must have some good buzz. Refreshing for them to bring in well liked, established people who actually know/care about their market. Hope to see this show succeed!

I talked with someone who works at Fox and they didn't even act like it was a secret or anything. I won't mention names in case it is a suprise..... but in casual conversation I mentioned the new morning program and that I was excited about Eadie and said person responded "Yeah, and what do you think about Craig Johnson coming back?."!
 
KFXA TV is on the street with the information on their new morning news show.

Edie Fawcett and Craig Johnson will handle duties each day from 7am-9am.

They will have one reporter on the street who comes from the FOX affiliate in Des Moines.

The first broadcast will be September 12, 2005.

It's surprising that Edie was chosen, because her last stint at KCRG was terrible, and they released her before her contract was up this past February.
She was grim looking, ill at ease in front of the camera, and stuttered so much it became uncomfortable to watch her.

Craig is very well liked by his former viewers, and should do quite well in his new role.

They are targeting women primarily. Sports reports will be very limited.

It will not be associated with Sinclair in any way, and will air in the Cedar Rapids market only. No shared effort with Des Moines.

Expect tons of outdoor advertising to promote this venture.

What's on 28 at that time now? Infomercials? I'm excited about the new show, especially since it's not going to be a Sinclair broadcast.
