Can anyone here tell what were the full titles of the news operations of the Triangle stations over the years and when did they use them? So far these are my best guesses:
WRAL
Dateline News (circa 1960s through early 1970s)
Action News 5 (mid 1970s until 1988)
WTVD
Your Esso Reporter (1950s through 1960s)
NewsBeat (late 1960s through around 1972)
Eyewitness News (1972 until around 1985, name returned in 2000)
WTVD 11 NEWS (1985 to 1993)
NewsChannel 11 (1993 to 2000, added ABC at the end of the name in '96)
WLFL
I believe they had already attempted a 10 o'clock newscast early in their history before the long-running effort we knew with Bob ("RIGHT NOW!)" Vernon.
WPTF
NewsBeat 28 (1987-1990 I think)
Any additions or corrections is appreciated, though accuracy isn't exactly necessary.
