About re-opening old threads...

Is there a preferred way of requesting that a specific, old, closed thread be re-opened so new posts can be made to it? A particular moderator to contact who takes such requests, or a particular forum function that I'm not seeing?

In a recent post here on the forum, I included a reference link to https://radiodiscussions.com/thread...e-watermarking-is-this-kfi-and-others.756462/ ... which after re-reading, I decided I wanted to add another post and audio specimen to. But, naturally, the thread shows as now being closed, and I don't feel like starting a new thread would be appropriate for a mere "look what I found now" follow-up message.
 
On some boards, threads that are inactive for a time auto-closed by the board's software preventing a "necro" which is frowned upon on many forums. On the amateur radio board I help at, threads over 12 months get auto-closed by the software. But never hurts to ask a Mod.
 
Threads automatically close after one year of inactivity. 99% of the time there is no reason to reopen an old thread, but if you believe you have a legitimate reason why it should be done, use the report function to request it with a reason why it needs to be in that thread and not a new one and we'll look on a case-by-case basis.
