About two hours to the flip...

Its time to either LMA it with Mr. Shapiro and let him take it over or SHUT IT OFF! Maybe it will have a "Catestrophic transmitter failure" and have "difficulty finding replacement parts"...

maybe if it goes long enough there won't be a Nassau to work details out with Shapiro, and he'll get it all by default?

I would not be suprised if Mr. Shapiro's group just ended up with 102.3 without any compensation... I mean "Real" compensation and not just on paper like the Summerau thing.

They could just track showtunes.

The Loop idea made some sense for The Hawk because they were "moving" up the dial. But this now...phew!

I mean it Christmas music sounds better and better...

:D

99.1 is now running a looped message advertising all the Nassau stations in New Hampshire. Oh Joy More Looped Messages.

Really?? Do they really think people are SOOO connected with a corporation or franchise that they would only tune in to those stations instead of the one they're losing?

That only says one thing to me: "We don't really know what we want to plug, but we'll throw something in there to let people know that this frequency will soon be managed/owned by someone else, and we're not wasting any more man hours to do anything with it." ::)

This is getting pathetic. How hard would it be to simulcast something? Maybe put WEMJ on 99.1? 101.5 and 104.9? Something...anything. Memo to GS/Nassau: Do something with them or shut them down. It's embarassing.

NH Radio, you have to speak in THEIR language...

Here, let me put that in a loop for you. ;D

OK so they're using 99.1 to promote their other stations. the loop could be done better. If you think listening to the looped message would help your listenership (then you have no confidence in your product of course!) have "samples" of the air product as part of the message. Make it longer. Sample each station.

Or Christmas Music.

And why should they care? They're selling the stations!!! Maybe the sale contract specifies that the stations stay on the air with programming. I'm sure they have better things to do than to cater to some 19 year old radio geek who has no life.

IF we're assuming that they (Nassau) thinks the endless loop idea promoting their other stations, why take a better advantage of it?

Personally I think it's foolish.

And the nasty comments (whoever you are talking about) are pointless. We're all hopeless geeks with little to do than to engage in the speculation, bad mouthning, and "look how smart I think I am.."!

Um, I'm not sure if you used my quote as a reference to speak to me or through me. However, I will note I was only poking fun at the whole gesture. (And by the way, I'm a 35-year-old radio geek.)

I reacted, and that, in the context of what these "DISCUSSIONS" are, was silly.

Sorry.
