The longest tropo in the US likely occurs along the Atlantic and Gulf coasts. Outside of those areas, the Great Lakes area gets some good tropo. For example, I can hear 107.9 WBCV Wausau, WI most summer days in Manistee, MI. And I bet someone in central Wisconsin can probably get 88.7 WIAA Interlochen, MI and/or 103.5 WTCM Traverse City, MI often.crainbebo said:And for us in the Pacific NW, Tropo over 200 miles is RARE altogether. I've only gotten KDUK 104.7 Florence, OR TWICE. 250 mi. The Cascade Mtns, the Olympics, and the Siskiyou Mtns near Medford seem to stop all long range Tr from reaching here.
There can be 500 mi tropo but it's like a holy grail out here. Mike Cherry (a BC DXer) used to go out to the Vancouver Island coast and logged Eureka CA stations a couple of times (mainly KEKA).
