Absolutley Contacted

O & A insist they were "absolutley" contacted about replacing DLR in mornings on Free FM/NYC. I dont know if anyone believes this, but I surely think it's possible. There has been a major struggle with 'creative differences' on DLR's show.

If... and it's a B I G if... that happened, with the recent financial news of both Sirius/XM, would someone in market 52 pick up Opie/Anthony in mornings?

Highly probable that someone talked to them to sound them out about a possible return to CBS down the road. Free FM is on a short term trial at a radio division that is suffering from a number of self-inflicted wounds in Market #1 and several other big markets. (CBS' FM station fleet has seen a lot better days overall, to be frank; its major market AM news/talkers are carrying the division at the moment.) Whether they actually come back, probably won't be known or decided for months. CBS radio brass will want to be fully convinced that the Free FM lineup is beyond hope. That'll take a couple of books to prove to everyone's satisfaction, although we all know the prospects already look pretty dim.

92.9. Thanks to the total embargo we don't know how weak Jack is in the Arbitrons, but if it's like jockless Jack stations elsewhere, it's sure to need some serious help.

Just curious...

If it's all about getting a morning show that's not local, why hasn't anyone in Buffalo picked up the Bob&Tom show?<P ID="signature">______________
