Access.1 sells off WTKU-FM & WMGM-FM

Access.1 Communications has sold off Kool 98.3 WTKU-FM & The Shark 103.7 WMGM-FM to Maverick Communications. The Ace 102.7 WJSE-FM, WOND 1400 AM, WTAA 1490 AM, and 1580 were not part of the deal. NBC-40 WMGM-TV had already been sold seperately, to whom I have not heard. Maybe when some new blood is injected into the operation, both Kool & The Shark will see the return of the respectability they once enjoyed in the pre-John Ford days of David Allen Pratt, Jerry BB & Allison Wing. This last ratings book is officially the worst they've had in the last 3 years, maybe ever.

The broker for the deal informed one interested buyer (of the entire cluster) that he was out of the running, and proceeded to tell him all of the details contained in the original post. I'm sure it will hit the public forums in the next few days.

BTW, now found out WOND 1400 AM has been included in the sale, as well as the physical building at 1601 New Road in Linwood.
 
It's interesting that we're hearing all this hear before it suppposedly makes it to the trades
 
This would be really cool news... but word now is that the Maverick pulled out of the deal.... WE'RE STILL IN THIS GAME!
