Accoostic programing on AAA stations

I know that many AAA stations air Accoostic music programs on Sunday morning or evening. I listen to such a program, “Accoostic Sunrise” on “Exit” WEXT (97.7 Albany, NY.) I find that I really enjoy this music. Does anyone know of stations that air such Accoostic programming? Better yet, is there a place online that lists all the Accoostic Sunday programs on AAA stations? I hope to get a list, listen to all the programs and stations, and decide which I like and which I don’t. Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

Thanks for the link, Butlerguy. It’s an interesting show. However, I am still in search of other accoostic programming on AAA stations. I think most AAA stations produce local shows. I would hope that there would be a listing of all those shows somewhere, and if anyone knows where to find such a list, or, just knows of another good accoostic show on a AAA station, I’d appreciate the 4-11. You can reply to this, or PM or email me. Any more info is appreciated. Thanks.

WNCS "The Point" in Montpelier, VT has a folk music program, I believe 6 to 10, on Sunday mornings.

That's correct. It is more folk based and eclectic than many acoustic shows on other AAA stations... and although I'm the PD there, the program ("Crossroads") is programmed by the hosts.

Yes, I'm aware that it's 2009...

And I know that The Point also has transmitters elsewhere in VT, but nothing in southern VT. Is there any chance you could add another transmitter (if there's a frequency available) that might be heard at my favorite swimming hole in Wilmington?

I've been a longtime fan of KFOG's Acoustic Sunrise and more recently Sunset, programmed by one of their veteran DJs, Rosalie Howarth. Take a look at the playlists here: http://www.kfog.com/PROGRAMMING/AcousticSunriseSunset.aspx

It's a pretty great mix of acoustic covers by original artists as well as by other artists. Additionally a good mix of instrumentals, folk, and live tracks.

My only wish would be for them to mix any of these tracks into "everyday" programming once in a while. It never happens. :-{

I noticed that some of the NAC later Smooth AC stations once had Acoustic Sunrise but with a New age and Chill Approach

I've been listening to Crossroads on via the internet stream, too bad the stream sounds quite tinny (all treble, no bass). I've written to the station about this on their feedback form on the website, but so far no change.

Is accoostic programming remotely similar to acoustic programming?

Except for the Acoustic Sunrise and Sunset programs, and Acoustic Cafe, there aren't as many programs dedicated to purely acoustic music as you might think. The shows that feature live and local performers include many artists who play acoustic instruments, but they also include artists who play amplified instruments at low volume.

There are plenty of songs in AAA rotation that are recorded on unamplified instruments. There seems to be little point in creating special program hours of nothing but acoustic recorded music, except for the aforementioned shows that feature acoustic or "unplugged" versions of well-known songs. There is a program on the air here in Atlanta called "Acoustic Sunrise" on Sunday mornings. I don't know (or care) if it originates from a local studio or from a satellite feed. All I know is that it sounds good on the way to church Sunday morning.
