Isn't their non-compete with CBS up soon? Is there room for them in Charlotte on a non-CBS station? Looking at Kiss' last book, ACE & TJ haven't been forgotten.
 
There is speculation they may end up on 96.1 who changed from a rhythmic format to a more typical hit music. Clear Channel has tried to hire them before and does carry their show in other markets. And supposedly they now supply the studio they currently use for their syndicated show.

I can positively confirm that Ace and T.J. do their show from Clear Channel's Charlotte studios. I've been there and seen them with my own eyes. They're heading to 96.1 when the non-compete is up. Book it.
 
Has anyone else noticed that 96.1 has gotten awfully rhythmic again? For a while in late summer, they were adding stuff like Coldplay, The Script, etc.

Thought I was the only one who noticed it.
 
Would rather see 96.1 go rythmic again to differentiate from 95.1. But haven't heard them for several weeks as they are at reduced power while they replace their antenna.
 
Back to Ace & TJ - if I'm not mistaken, their non-compete is just about up, so I expect we'll hear some news shortly as to where we'll find them on the FM dial in Charlotte.

Maybe in the next day or so, or maybe just after the first of the year.
 
I listened to the show while in Columbia,SC on WNOK and they sound boring. I never got the show, too many side kicks involved in the show. I don't see why people listen.
 
If Ace & TJ do wind up on 96.1, which is where the show belongs, I bet Channel goes more mainstream CHR again and drops the rhythmic lean. I think a mainstream music mix would fit the show more.

Assuming they do go to WHQC, that will be a major win for them, like the show or not. I don't find it extremely impressive, either. The morning show they have now leaves a lot to be desired IMO.
 
It would have been less painfull to reverse my own vasectomy than to listen to Brotha Fred. He crowded the mic way too much and just got on my nerves.
