Acoustic version of "Roundabout" by Yes

I just happened to be going up and down the dial and found this. At first I thought it was "Classical Gas". It was on a special show called "Acoustic Storm". Interesting.

The station is 95.7 the Ride in Charlotte, NC. It's quite unique among clasic rockers. The format is often called "Classic Hits" but they don't play hits any more than album rock stations of the 70s played hits. The format is based on progressive rock from the 60s and 70s but there are other styles of music too, mostly rock. I'm not sure how Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye and The Temptations fit into this, but the station gets a lot of praise. The web site is 957theride.com and I think they stream.

I heard "Hotel California" while pumping gas but, even though I like it, I was resenting being forced to listen to garbage on a so-called Lite station. I don't have an explanation.

I'm confused. How is "Hotel California" not appropriate for a "Lite" station? I can understand that you don't personally like the song, but I cannot understand how you can imply that it isn't a "Lite" song.

Why would you resent that they're playing a song you like, even though it violated your sense of what their format was?
Does the "playing my song" thing happen so much that you're jaded, and you're jaded to the point that you don't even care if you hear good music, you just wish stations would stick to your idea of what they should play?
That sounds like crazy talk.

Wait a minute. Do you have an explanation for this?:

What do you "like" in that sentence?
What are you calling "garbage?"

Do you like Hotel California, even though it's garbage?
Or do you like resenting that you were forced to listen to an out-of-format song on a "Lite" station?

Is Hotel California "garbage" (even though you like it)?
Or is them playing a non-Lite song on a Lite station "garbage?"

This is probably bigger than some of your "I changed the antenna and now this channel doesn't come in" posts man. Don't leave us hangin'.

I like the song, but in some sitations I don't. It may fit a Lite format now but it's not Lite, and I resent being forced to listen to music that is called Lite but isn't in a retail situation. I was in the car listening to music that really was Lite but needed gas desperately.

No, "Hotel California" isn't garbage. It's one of the great classic rock songs if I'm in a state of mind to listen to it. There are a lot of songs I like which are too loud for me to care for in a store or office.

Another pretty groovy Yes tune acoustically is Long Distance Runaround
