Unfortunately, word is there are no plans for an upgrade or a new set. There has been talk of it but as of now, no committment or budget approval. The powers that be continue to "tinker" with the overall presentation, though...

And that's bad news? The set is classy. And no multi-level, plasma-screen-laden, neon-lit, phony-background-sporting new set will make the news any better. Frankly, going to the green screen instead of the large monitor was a big mistake.
 
Action News has been #1 since the 70's. Why is it that they need to follow the trend of the other stations? What kind of set do you want? Maybe like 3 and 10 with an area for the anchors to do reports while standing up next to a flat screen? Maybe the weather area should be widen to include abunch of computers in the background, and they can have some people from accu-weather there looking really busy.
 
Wow---relax everyone, LOL! I don't care either way, I'm not advocating a new set. I said "unfortunately" in my post in answer to an earlier post a month or so ago from someone asking about whether there is a new set in the works as was their "suspicion".
