Active Rocker WTFX has a new VT AM Show

Voiceover deity JOE KELLY signs on as the new morning show voicetracker at CLEAR CHANNEL Active Rocker WTFX (100.5 THE FOX)/LOUISVILLE, and he is the new imaging voice of CITADEL Classic Rocker WGRF (97 ROCK)/BUFFALO. JOE also has a new site to check out, at jkcsonline.com

Word has it Joe Kelly will be doing "voice work" not "voice tracking" for WTFX. Dwight and Tony still have their jobs and are doing great.

Ditto to the post above. Joe Kelly would be a great addition to the Fox. Dwight and Tony aren't going anywhere. They're doing great and are starting to get a following.

The Fox morning show is underperforming as is the rest of the station. Lex and Terry have beaten the fox in the morning in the last trend in every demo except 18-34. Good money says the station will be JACK in the next couple of weeks. Clear Channel have no loyalty to any format. If the numbers aren't there and the ratings are tanking a flip is coming. It's the CC way.

Clear Channel has like 3 Jack Like Stations none of which uses the Jack Name and their all in very Small Markets. CC doesnt do Many Jack Like Stations. THey Will Stay FOX, Unless Someone THreatens Kiss or AMZ.

Clear Channel will make some changes by the end of the summer, most likely to the jazz station and my bet would be that it will go AC or "high cume" (Jack). There is a big whole in the market that I am very supprised George Lindsay hasn't filled with the Max. With the 80s station gone there is now a big gap between VEZ and the Max in the female demos (my opinion is that the Max irrates some of their core listeners with the heavier stuff when they could be playing 80s/90s from Sting, U2, etc)...someone will be able to slide right between the two and draw from both audiences especially with CHR being so cold right now.

Any chance that Clear Channel could slide Star 103.7 in Frankfort over to 93.1/101.7? Could Clear Channel possibly even change the simulcast to 93.1/103.7, and have Magic 105.5/101.7?

The fact that Frankfort has a Hot AC station so close to the flamethrowing Mix 94.5 just seems so odd-especially since Mix's 12+ ratings the last two books haven't been stellar either.<P ID="signature">______________

Louisville is one of the first Clear Channel outside Texas markets and they ARE LOYAL to the Rock format if it makes "cents". Most markets where a flip has occured, i.e. Houston & Miami, they have other Rock properties that were out performing the station they chose to flip. For instance they have the Buzz and a Classic Rock still on in Houston. Miami is WAY ethnic and just really can't support the Active Rock format any longer. KLOL and ZETA both had TOO MUCH BAGGAGE to shake. Cox will run thier outlet CHEAP enough to do OK. Clear Channel still has thier Classic Rocker on in Miami as well.

The Fox is seeing what's happening with A LOT of Active Rockers. POOR MALE SAMPLES. Even weighting is not enough to make up for it in most cases. Most males don't have home phones these days and Arb is NOT using cell phone numbers for any calls. Plus Rock music in general has been suffereing for a couple of solid years but is starting to SLOWLY make a comeback.

On the Lex and Terry numbers....not sure what numbers you're looking @ but the extraps I have don't look anything like what you mention.

And yes Joe Kelly is doing VOICE WORK that's it. Joe's production company has pretty much gone under because of things like Brown Bag and the like who are all trading out thier services. Spoke to him a couple of months back when he was selling off all the old imaging packges from the 90's.
