Actor Charles Grodin, Dead at 86

Loved him in Midnight Run. A lot of kids grew up with him on Beethoven and Beethoven's 2nd. And he hosted a talk show on CNBC in the '90s. Long career, may he RIP.

I used to watch his talk show on CNBC and always thought he was a great guest on Letterman, always playing the part of someone bitter and jaded. While he was never a leading man, he did have a lot of memorable movie roles. Some of the ones I recall are Seems Like Old Times with Chevy Chase and Goldie Hawn, The Couch Trip opposite Dan Akroyd, Walther Matthau and a few other well-known actors, Clifford opposite Martin Short and the accountant in Dave with Kevin Kline. Also Beethoven as previously mentioned.

As alluded to above one of his funniest roles was the “disinterested talk show guest” on Letterman and others. Pure brilliance.
