Thanksgiving day the afternoon jock on the River who I think is also PD, said this after playing Rocky Mountain Way...

"I kinda like Joe Walsh but I don't know much about his solo work. But the more I hear the more I like." Later on he talked about a new Buffett live CD set and said he "didn't recognize all of the songs." Is this guy clueless, honest or both? True to the music....yeah. What a joke.

Make it a lot less about me/I/mine/my and the breaks get better and better.

Tonight on the way home from Thanksgiving with the family, I heard The River play "Freebird" and I think this was one or two songs later, they played Soft Cell "Tainted Love."

I guess it would be hard to run that musical gamut all the way from Soft Cell to Joe Walsh and the new Eagles and Buffett CDs and sound knowledgeable and informed and interested in all that spread of music that's mostly played out. ;D

I always chuckle when I see the "Nobody knows Fleetwood Mac like--1007 Thuh Rivvver!" and the Beatles and the other tv commercials they have.

Especially the one about the Mac, it makes me think...so what if you know everything about something, radio should be about communicating. Tell us what you know. Or at least it should be about backing up what you're claiming. If you're claiming to "know Fleetwood Mac" then the station should be more than just a jukebox playing their records by file numbers. The listeners already know how all their hits sound. Share some information sometimes. Tell us a story about when you met Fleetwood Mac. Maybe that's what they "know" about Fleetwood Mac, the file number, and it's a secretive thing, so no one else can "know" that fact as well as they do. Probably some weaselwording technical nuance to the statement that makes it 'true.' :eek:

Even the cardreader on there seems disembodied.

They should play some Bob Welch or some of the Fleetwood Mac solo stuff, even Mick Fleetwood's sometimes, just to spice it up erry now and then.

This headphone thing will revolutionize radio! I see a new future for Thuh Rivvver!
What a great idea it would be to tie it in with some kind of contest on the Neuse River, or even the New River, it's not that far away.
Lots of clues, make people answer their phones with "I'm waiting for the new Lennerd Skennerd solo joint to drop!"
That way, they could go either classic rocky, or add to the urban AC pile with Foxy when they change formats!

I hope they are HD headphones! I hear High Density is all the rage!
Double-sided and pre-formatted would also be great bonuses!
My TRS-80 keeps eating my Parsec copies! :)
