There are so many ads on this website and I totally get that the bills need to be paid. However, a lot of the ads are incredibly obtrusive and from time-to-time, some are even inappropriate.

I was just curious if there was a monthly or annual fee that could be paid to remove the ads? Depending on the pricing, I’d totally be open to an ad-free experience on here.

Right now no... Down the line I would like to integrate the site into the RadioInsight framework where that would be feasible, but there is no timetable for that.
Thanks, Lance! I appreciate the reply!! 🙂

What has gotten really bad lately, both on mobile and on the regular site, are ads covering up the content and/or breaking up the intended layout. I realize there's the economic reality of needing the revenue, but this has become an annoyance.

In a few cases the ads may not come from the website, but a virus. I helped someone clean up a PC that was getting ads on known sites that have no advertising like some local amateur radio sites.

Those ads are also what keeps this site alive. No ads, no hosting costs paid for since all of the admins here are volunteers.

Keep that in mind when blocking ads here and on other sites where those ads also keep people working.
Some sites do go overboard on the ads where here there's not that many. Some of those sites have scripted ads that when they load, your computer's fan sound like jet taking off.

I don't think that's the case here.

I want to make something clear: I'm not objecting to the fact that there are ads here. I understand that they help pay to keep the site going. I need no clarification on that point. What I am objecting to are ads that are covering up content and making the site unreadable. This has especially become a problem with the mobile version where, in some cases, ads are covering up not just the content, but each other as well.

I just saw some really nice shoes, but I don't like tassels. Besides, they're probably really expensive and I have no need for new dress shoes.

Mark, please DM me screenshots of examples. I can't fix what I don't see.

Tassels are cool! At least some of the ads feature stuff related to radio. I view the site on 2 machines via Firefox. One is mine and the other my spouse which use a custom blocker, but that one is more of a gaming machine then a browsing machine.

I have actually bought a radio I saw advertised here.
