Ad that got my attention... and some curiosity!

Benztown ran this today on a number of radio news sites:

It definitely got my attention, due mostly in part to its use of the symbolic WW II image, but also to its reference to the SVB "crisis" and FDIC.

So, without commending or criticizing, I thought I'd post the ad (some free Benztown publicity, too!) to see how our RadioDiscussions readers perceived it? Good? Bad? Funny, Offensive? And most of all, effective in showing Benztown as being current, topical and relevant?

Looks like one of those quirky ads to make you google who Benztown is. Which, is ironically, exactly what I did.

Kia did something similar with their new logo. K with a bridge-less A, that looks like an N. Over 30M people have googled "Car with KN logo".

I think anyone in the programming and general management areas of radio already well knows what (and who) Benztown is.

I think this is more to enhance their image as being very current and aware.-

Good example of attention-getting. And it does increase brand awareness.

I was wondering if any old-timers found the use of the WW II image as being in some way inappropriate.

The 'Rosy The Riveter' image has been used for decades in all sorts of ads, feminist literature, and even school plays. In fact, I believe as an image, it's considered open source.

It looks more like the Nine Inch Nails logo now.

I was one of those. I had no idea KIA changed their logo until I kept noticing new "KN" cars and Google'd it to figure out where "KN" cars came from.

I found it on the label of a craft beer from western Massachusetts recently.
