Adam Carolla #1 Podcast on iTunes

I've caught all but the first two podcasts: ACE seems comfortable with
the new scenario...one guest...and they talk. It's "rude, crude, and socially unacceptable".
I like it. Adam and a guest sitting around telling stories. Check Friday's event for his
"Baja Solution". not PC...but very funny. I'm hooked.

Think part of Ace's deal is that he can't charge for his podcast?

Content is plenty worth a buck or 2.... especially compared to some of the other crap that is not free on itunes.

That was great. Moving the Jews from Israel to Baja. Solving two problems at once.

I've been listening to his podcasts more than his show.  It's very interesting how it sounds like Adam & a "buddy" (the day's guest) just talking over a couple beers.  Something kind of charming about it all.  On the other hand, Frosty, Heidi and Frank did a podcast the other day where they simply did their usual "schtick" from where they left off.  Pretty lame.

1. Why get people to pay for something that is free. (listen to Adam's show with Leo Laporte) Adam can charge for a pre-roll commercial or put sponsorships within the podcast and make a pretty big chunk of change. He has more listeners now than he did when he was on the air. And if people (like me) tuned into his podcast on his webpage, that doesn't count towards the iTunes total.

2. Conway and Whitman won't last too long on the top podcast list, neither will Frosty, Heidi and Frank. Why? Because they are doing the same crap that didn't get ratings before. Sure, they will get a few 1000 , but never enough to get it sponsored. Adams show is fun to listen to. No sound effects, no intro, just Adam.

3. Leykis could make a killing at this. But since his show was so caller driven, it would be hard to be the same Tom Leykis. He is a great interviewer, so I think if he did a show like Adam, and just "shot the $hit" with a guest, it would be great to listen to.

Podcast is the way to go. I am totally getting hooked and getting over missing KLSX.

BTW, Whitman "refunded" all of the money people paid for the podcast...now his PayPal account is a -$10.00.

Yeah, #1 Men 25-54 (FHF) are pretty crappy ratings.

#1 Men 25-54 is not true. Check your facts. Maybe #1 Men making over $75K that live in the northern half of the top third of Orange County, Hispanic last name with English as the primary language.

Leykis, sure, FHF, nope.

That's not true, but anyway. FHF doing their same show as a podcast will fail. Part of their charm on the air was talking about things within the boundaries of radio(pushing the boundaries often). Hence all of their dumb 'puns' & sexual innuendos because it "sounds dirty" and had the producer's finger near the dump button at all times.

Now take the lame titled podcast, "uncensored". Heidi is still doing her dumb puns & lesbian "fish" jokes. On a podcast, it comes off very lame. If the podcast is "uncensored", why not let it fly? That 1st podcast made them sound like the "mark & kim" of the podcast world. I'm not saying a podcast must be loaded with F-bombs to be good, but it has to be (somewhat) real. Hell, they went off the air sobbing like babies, drunk off their asses, & after being gone 2 weeks, start off their podcast with Heidi talking about a book she read. That'll get them listening...

Adam's said several times that he can't make money on his podcast because he's still being paid for his radio show. I don't think that's anything unusual.
