Adam Carolla Number 1 in Seattle?

Last week, Adam talked about being number one here. Does anyone know the details of this? If had been Bonaduce who said this, I would have taken it with a grain of salt, but it was Adam who was talking quite a bit about the ratings success here.

I always find it funny when a personality sits atop a fluke TREND and then shoots off his/her mouth like they're the best in the market. Adam has pretty much sat out of the top 5 in the Ends demo since the show hit the airwaves here in Seattle. During that time, we didn't hear a peep from him about how he was doing.

When the next trend comes out and you don't hear him talking about his Seattle ratings anymore, then you'll know the show's numbers are back in line with every other daypart at the End.

Corolla must have been referring to the September Extrap where he finished in first place with an abnormally high number. In fact his number for the solo month was two to three times anything he has ever had. 14 times what he had in an earlier month this year. I believe that it was a very big spike. He usually sits around between 10th and 5th in the 18-34 demo for full books, worse in other demos. Not really a factor in Seattle. KBKS had a similar high spike for the month in other dayparts. My guess is there was some unusual zips or weighting in the single month. I noticed KISW and KUBE had an abnormally low 18-34 September. This is why no one quotes trends, they are unreliable. I don't even think a single three phase book is that reliable. The four book is your best indication of success and Adam Corolla is not a factor.

Thanks for the reply. Personally, I like the Adam Carolla show.

I am frequently amused by the focus on being "#1". How do explain to your advertising clients that only 94-96% of the radio audience is listening to another station than yours?
