Adam Carolla

I think the most interesting thing about Carolla's new show on Free FM is the total lack of any comments from people who post here -either positive or negative. Are Bay Area radio-info posters trying to be fair and give Adam some time to get comfortable before piling on the criticism? Maybe nobody cares, or is even listening? Just curious...

I'm too busy listening to Stern on Sirius in the morning to listen to Adam. If I run out in the morning, I'll listen to Willie, Will & Wells on The Quake/960 for a few minutes, or catch the headlines on KCBS.

After Howard's done, I switch to Dan Patrick on ESPN Radio (on Sirius, of course, since no Bay Area station carries it). When Dan's done, I switch to "60s Vibrations" (Sirius 6) and listen to the Oldies that KFRC thought there wasn't an audience for any more ... which explains why the Stones and McCartney draw such huge crowds at their concerts still -- yeah, us Baby Boomers don't spend any money.

That's why Bread, Lobo, Firefall and Orleans (KFRC core artists now) are drawing 15,000 every night on their tours, right?

Ooops, tangent. Stepping down from soapbox. Next, please!

I've listend to some Carolla, and he is pretty good. About what I expected. He is much better than the Roth and Rover I have listened to over the internet.

My guess as to why no one is commenting: 1)It is syndicated, 2)Not on Live105, so not really replacing Stern in this market, and 3)106.9 is quickly becoming irrelevant.

And as for Sirius, I totally agree. Although I always disliked the station, I used to have KNBR on for an hour or more a day. I have listend to a total of maybe 20 minutes of it over the last 2 weeks since I have also installed satellite in my car.

Hijacked thread alert!

I'm sorry, but Llew didn't intend this to become a discussion about satellite radio, and if you're going to talk about satellite instead of about Bay Area radio, you are off-topic.<P ID="signature">______________

I was trying to respond to both.

I honestly think the biggest problem with Carolla's show is Rachel Perry. Carolla has already made plenty of snide little joke's at her expense that she has not gotten.

Also, his set commercial schedule hurts him. As opposed to Stern, who was able to talk for 40 minutes when he got on a roll, Carolla has to go to break and just can't pick it up where he left off.

My fault. I'm sorry. I made the wrong turn off of Carolla Avenue.

I will impose self-punishment upon myself and refrain from posting in the next three threads that include any of the following topics:

1. How dumb was Bonneville in flipping The Bear to Max? I mean, really, how dumb?

2. Which Bay Area station will be flipped to CHR?

3. What is the next Bay Area station that will switch to Spanish-language programming?

Sorry. Sorry, sorry, sorry.

P.S. -- But you gotta admit, at least I made references to local radio stations when I brought up Eh-eh-eh!

VERY funny! That should be a new form of punishment. No mentions of the Doghouse, The Bear or CHR coming to SF.

Summarily removed per your request. Thereby, with one stroke of the sword, making me the single most attractive guy on this board.
