Adam the Bull moonlighting in NYC??

Saturday night, Adam tweeted that he was doing an on-air shift at NYC's The Fan station, also owned by CBS. Does this mean that he is moonlighting back in the "big city" and that perhaps he isnt long for Cleveland??

How should we read this??

Probably take it as he was doing an airshift on his old station in his hometown (and it is sister stations with 923 The Fan in Cleveland.)

-_-

Such a non-story... Did you listen to it at all? The dude pumped up Cleveland better than anyone I ever heard. Mentioned 923 The Fan almost TOO much. In no way did he even try to do this without people knowing, you even mentioned the tweet. Stop being so paranoid. The "FAN" has become a franchise in cities all over the USA. It's a brand now. This isn't just some on-air host moonlighting... Relax

I didnt listen and I didnt infer that he was doing it in secret. If the term "moonlighting" indicated that, than I apologize. Why dont you stop being so accusatory and condescending? I never said I wasnt "relaxed" or paranoid. Look, he is a major talent and if and when a larger market and a bigger job comes calling, he will likely move on. Thats the facts of life in this business in this market.

Cant we just have a decent conversation about a topic without some "know it all" "cooler than the room" [EDIT] coming on and acting like a jerk, talking down to everyone??? I thought this board was different? If I wanted that sort of thing, Id go to the Cleveland.com boards.

It's not about trying to be "know it all" or "cooler than the room." It's trying to thwart some rumor mongering, because let's face it. Posting the news in the manner you did may incite that in some. For those who DIDN'T listen (like you) it could be misleading... That's all. It's a unique case of branding in today's radio climate. An interesting topic, yes... But the way you presented it made me think there was malice behind it.

Local air personalities who also do regular (or occassional) work in other markets is pretty common, and I'm betting will become more and more frequent in the future, as ownership groups grow their national brand, and find a way to even further cut costs.

Thank you, THAT is a decent response. I sort of figured that but after thinking about it and how ownership of stations is so conglomerated these days. It does make for cost cutting.

He probably just wanted to do a few shows without some dead weight anchored to him like he has most days from 2-7 in cleveland.

How much longer until they move Carmen in as Bull's new partner? It can't be that much longer, can it?

I wouldn't blame him for filling in at NYC if he has the ability to do so... I am guessing he gets extra $$$ for doing that... and in radio... you take all the gigs you can get..

It can't be long before Ken Carman moves into the 2-7 slot. Dustin Fox is horrendous. Why does he repeat everything the host says (Carman or Bull) and then when he coughs he can't figure out how to use a cough button? No way should a brand new host be on in afternoon drive. Put him on the weekends to learn.

Ken is decent but I don't know if the two of them could coincide without it being annoying (with all the yelling and stammering). Both are very opinionated but they trip over themselves a lot - I wouldn't exactly call either "polished."

Also, anyone notice that Ken (who's very opinionated) just ended up agreeing with Bull on everything. It's like whoever hosts with Bull just ends up becoming subservient to him. He needs a cohost who can battle him and go back and forth IMO.

Carman is a vast improvement over Dustin. He might agree all the time as well but at least there are two strong personalities. Dustin Fox has ZERO business co-hosting an afternoon drive sports talk show in a major market.

Remember Dustin's a Buckeye with a National Championship ring, thus that makes him local sports royalty.

He's new to the business, and is pretty much getting on the job training as he goes.

I'd have Bull and Carman from 2-7, a football only hour from 7-8 with Kendall Lewis and D-Fox, and Joe Lull from 8-midnight.

Fox is lost when the conversation goes to hoops or baseball, but let him stay in his wheel house, he's OK
