Adams/McAdam - WEEI

This may be me just putting too much thought into this, but I'm wondering something.....

Does Sean McAdam and Mike Adams get along?

I ask this because before Mikey "officially" had the night gig, there was one night where he was hosting, and also had Buckley and McAdam on. Listening to the back and forths from Mike and Sean, it just seemed (to me anyway) that there was tension/friction.

And now with Sean getting married, there was some joking (?) that he (Mike) wasn't at the wedding.

Just wonderin'.

I don't know but I'll tell you this much.. that Sunday morning baseball show would be A LOT better if it was just McAdam and Buckley and we didn't have to put up with Mikey's clown act.

actually, the back and forth was probably part of WEEI's contrived formula of point/counterpoint.

I just wish that WEEI would stop putting Frank from Gloucester on the air every day. I read somewhere (I think it was on the old Radio Info) that Frank has a certain phone number to call in whenever he wants to get on the air...a different number from what everyone else calls.

I'd buy that because Frank is one (of a few) callers us Sox fans absolutely can't stand to listen to. Although it was sooooo sweet to hear him just baffled after the Yankees '04 collapse. But he is so annoying, but makes for good radio. So I wouldn't doubt if he does have a special number, although no one would ever admit it.

I don't doubt he has a special number. I have a special remote to change the station the minute I hear the name "Frank from Gloucester." I wonder if he's an actor hired by WEEI to stir s**t up...

It could be a whole schtick. I mean if ya really think about it, obviously strippers love to take your money, and they are not too discriminating, but how many would gleefully dance for a smelly, toothless 75 yr old? LOL

Mikey's shtick grows real old, real fast with me. McAdam is terrific, and the only local writer who I can see someday stepping in for Gammons should Peter ever decide to hang 'em up.

Planet Mikey does get bogged down with his own magnificence, but it is ten times better than Ted Nation was at the end of his tenure. With the Red Sox now totally out of it - Wakefield's comeback a bust tonight - they are going to need some sizzle. Looks like it is all Patriots all the time with a little Bruins thrown in for good measure.

Bruins are on BZ. They hardly every get mentioned on EEI, not that they've been deserving all the time, either..

Understood. I think of David Brudnoy's many nights of pre-emption, BUT, WEEI did have a new Bruin on today.
It was an interview and didn't keep my attention at all.
