Additional Jones Airchecks

AShuelke, I'm glad you enjoyed the JRN airchecks I recently uploaded. I'm afraid I do not have any tape of the network from 1997. The first time I heard JRN's Smooth Jazz network was in 2000, and it was through its affiliate KZSP in South Padre Island, TX. Another station I heard the network was on WDRR in Ft. Myers, FL, and through the long standing JRN affiliate WQJZ.

The files I originally uploaded through sendspace are going into a file I created through 4shared.com . I added two files from KZSP to the folder for download. These files are 2 1/2 hours long, and encoded the files to 80/44.1 mono to keep the airchecks under 100 MB. KZSP used an air monitor for their web signal, so there may be some static and fading. Otherwise, it's very enjoyable. I intend to add more recordings from various JRN affiliates to my folder, especially after the network closes down at the end of this month.

Excellent. Some of these airchecks contain Paul Riann who retired from Jones a few years ago.

I thought he was a weak link back then, but after listening to him now on these recordings I must say he's better than anything BA puts out there.

Major thanks for these!
