Adele - Set Fire to the Rain

Will this song ever be pushed to CHR stations? It was added to many modern rock/alternative stations a few months ago. And while I realize she's still getting lots of airplay with "Someone Like You" and "Rolling in the Deep" still manages to get overplayed, "Set Fire to the Rain" could easily be a huge hit on CHR.

It's far from being too "edgy" for CHR stations. And I personally feel it's the best song on her album next to "Rolling in the Deep" (which, yes, I'm sick of hearing).

Last week, "Set Fire To the Rain" jumped into the top 40 on Mediabase, climbing from 57 to 35, so I think its safe to say that CHR has already picked up on this one. Its currently on 70 stations so I think its a safe bet to assume its going to be a hit like her last two singles.

I'm not a huge Adele fan but its probably my favorite song off of "21", and it has the added exposure in being used in many commercials over the past 4 or 5 months, so many people have probably already heard and just didn't realize it.

Yeah, and it's still a couple weeks before the official adds date, so it's definitely looking good...

This is the first Adele single I've really liked

Haven't heard it yet here in Greenville, SC, but our stations are a bit on the slow side on adds. But I do think once it hits, it'll be another Adele song that gets played a million times a day. But it is probably her fastest, most aggressive songs on the album and I agree that it's probably my favorite song on it. I respect, however, that "Rolling in the Deep" is still probably a better song overall in terms of showcasing her vocal range and bringing something different to the airwaves (until it got to the point of being way overplayed).

As far as commercials, the best use of "Set Fire to the Rain" was for the finale of "Rescue Me". The complete song's lyrics didn't fit the finale, but the use of the chorus just gave those promos an extra emotional boost (even if the finale itself fell a little flat emotionally IMO, but that's a different story).
