Adobe Audition 2.0 compatibility questions...

I recently contacted the Adobe customer help line and they said that, "we can not recommend any software or hardware for our products". :) AWESOME!!!! So the question that I pose to you Prod Gods and Prod Goddesses is...are there any mixing boards that are compatible with with AA 2.0's new built in scrub feature? Mainly concerning a built in scrub/jog wheel like M-Audio's board for Garageband or the Shorcut 360 controller but with all the features of a mixing board. Yamaha makes a great USB mixer but no scrub wheel and M-Audio makes a great board with a scrub wheel but no Pro I/O's ie...XLR and 1/4 jacks. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

I dunno, but I just saw an Adobe Audition 2.0 install... 1.0 takes up 15.7 megs or something...and 2.0 takes a WHOPPING 330 megs of space.

I don't know what Adobe decided to do, but they're missing the whole point that an audio editor requires rapid system throughput and a 330meg memory hog is BAD.

My Adobe 2.0 runs fine, but then I have 2 GIG of memory. Never a hicup and I don't run any other software while in a session.

I'm not saying it won't run, I'm just sayin' that taking a piece of software that was pretty darn swell (1.0) then making 2.0 take TWENTY FIVE TIMES more space and memory is justifiably questionable.

If 2.0 had 25 times more bells and whistles, I'd be impressed. But, overall, it's SLOWER and so far I'd have to say it's really not that much more impressive. It's uglier, too, IMHO.

Also, I understand hardware is improving, etc, but...why not strive to make software run FASTER instead of just bogging down with more code.

I use the Mackie Controller Universal to mix and scrub with. It works fine as long as you use a standard sound card..(not a USB driven extrnal I/O device) The Mackie is a MIDI interface and uses a USB bus to interact with the computer and it requires it's full attention to function properly. It even has an overlay for the controls specifically for Adobe Audition/Cool Edit
