I have thought my share of unkind things about the newest version of Adobe Audition... and said a few out loud. ;D
The menu choices seem convoluted. Some favorite features have gone away. The Tool bar options have apparently vanished.
And then yesterday... I realized that my old Texas German concept of "Ve must alvays follow the rules" fell by the wayside. We had a discussion a while back about creating custom keystrokes to do things that used to be so simple. I (at that time) was so proud of myself for creating a spreadsheet of all the Keystroke combinations so that the BLANK available keystrokes could be identified so we could program them to please ourselves.
And then yesterday... I finally decided I could step on the cracks in the sidewalk if I wanted to.
You can have multiple libraries of keystroke commands in Audition. And any keystroke that came from Adobe.. out of the box... can be changed to something else that suits you better. All those keystrokes that only a person using Audition to clean-up videos... which maybe you never do.. they can all be changed to whatever YOU like.
Shared machine? Other users can always pull up the DEFAULT library of keystrokes and make Audition just like it came from the factory, or even create their own private library of keystrokes which is different than yours, different than the one Tom uses, the one Dick uses and the one Harry uses. In your library, you can assign EFFECTS and FAVORITES to what ever key makes sense to you. (And if you don't tell Adobe... they will never know!)
Now that I have stepped on the cracks in the sidewalk... I think when the mailman comes this afternoon, I will bring it all in the house and I will FOLD, SPINDLE and MUTILATE to my heart's content. Sometimes rules and standards are meant to be broken.
