First this is a very small market here so everyone does a bit of production themselves. We have 3 Prod computers all with Adobe 1.5 on them. I want to know if it's possible to:

1. save as a default file type (Windows PCM). Some of our salesfolk produce their own spots and the risk of saving said spot saved in the wrong format is a frequest worry. Note we used to use QDESIGN which is still an option on that machine although one of the three stations will not run that file type.

2. eliminate the formats we do not want to use. E.G. ADPCM, .VOX, .SND, .WMA etc etc. on that particular computer.

As it is now everyone saves commercial audio to an upload folder the audio therein is moved to the proper directories on the three air computers and a backup every ten minutes, so that folder is generally empty when files are saved there.

Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

I'm a Cool Edit guy, but you might try reinstalling. I seem to remember during set up being given the option to pick and choose the file formats I wanted to have available. If I'm correct you could simply elimiante all the formates you don't want available.

They should appear as .dll files in your Audition directory...Should be able to simply delete them from the folder. On the other hand, if you delete those dll's, you likely won't be able to open files of that type either. I suggest moving the dll's to a different folder, but I wouldn't delete them entirely.
