"Adorn" by Miguel

I started hearing "Adorn" on one of my local CHR stations (104.5/WSNX - Grand Rapids, MI) for the first time about a month or two ago. I have to say that I love this song! For some reason I don't hear it on our other CHR station (105.3/WHTS).

When I first heard it, I was immediately captivated by how smooth it is. WSNX seemed to only play it at night, and they would never identify it on the air for some reason.

Anyway, is this song moving up the charts? Do a lot of other CHR stations play it? I had never even heard of Miguel before I looked up this song.

KAMP and KIIS were both playing it but Miguel is a local artist, being from San Pedro.

I love this song, and I think its a shame that it didn't get more airplay at CHR. Miguel and Frank Ocean both give me hope that straight up R&B will return to CHR at some point, and we won't have to be subjected to every R&B song having a rap verse.

I love this song, and I think its a shame that it didn't get more airplay at CHR. Miguel and Frank Ocean both give me hope that straight up R&B will return to Mainstream CHR at some point, and we won't have to be subjected to every R&B song having a rap verse.

I agree. It is a great song, very smooth. If CHR stations, give "Adorn" a chance, they will be pleasantly surprised. Between Miguel and Alicia Keys with new product, maybe we will see R&B without techno dance tracks return to CHR. If Frank Ocean cleans up at the Grammy's, would Mainstream CHR be willing to play his music?

^I think the biggest obstacle was sales - at the time it hit #1 on the Rhythmic chart, ITunes sales were still below Top 100 - and even with major market airplay, sales still never broke the Top 80 or so

With Miguel receiving a handful of Grammy nominations, there exists the very real possibility that this song will reappear on both the iTunes charts and in radio airplay in February when people become more aware of the Grammy noms.

KHKS 106.1 Kiss FM in Dallas/Fort Worth has been playing it for a time. While it has crossed over into the Top 40, it's the sales that are the biggest factor.
