What may look like a "continual decline" may not be the case. Considering that Macon is an ethnic-weighted, HDBA market, speaking for WPEZ, it's in fine shape where it needs to be, with persons (particularly women) 25-54.
Just 'cause a station's not number one in all demos doesn't mean it's in the terlet, and that a format change is imminent. Nor does it mean that a format with the thin membrane of an adult hits direction is a good idea.
TDO.

They were still running Steve & DC in the morning, too, and I've NEVER visited Macon and heard a live jock in middays...Not saying that hasn't changed, but at least early on in Cumulus' hold on the station and well before it with its previous ownership, that station was poorly programmed...Haven't heard it in a few years though, so maybe all that's gotten tightened up since.

Where is Delilah when you need her?

If Warner Robins beats Texas on Saturday afternoon (3:30p), they play the international winner on Sunday afternoon on both stations. If they lose, they will be playing for third place on Sunday at 12:30pm only on Sunny. Doing the local stuff won't make it number one, but it is making a difference in Houston County.

Thank you for this, Hank! It was good to hear Saturday's game while the wife and I were taking care of errands around town. The signal was very clear on the west side of Macon.

WMGB has not had a midday talent for over a year, the new PD/Afternoon jock has no street presence and as for nights...let's just say they may as well sign off.
WPEZ lost its midday talent at the start of the book and she was replaced with an overbearing voice-tracker. The WPEZ morning show needs to be freshened. The best thing going for WPEZ is David in the afternoons...and from what I've heard, he's a bit frazzled by all the other duties dear old Cumulus has him doing. Oh, and let's not forget John Tesh at nights...PLEASE! Where is Delilah when you need her.
How often can you listen to Rob Thomas, Matchbox Twenty, or Maroon 5? There is tremendous erosion in WMGB's TSL and the Cume is demonstrative. The new station voice guy is amateur and doesn't match the current sound of the station.
WPEZ will make adjustments and show steady growth...and let's not forget they will begin playing Christmas music November 1!
WMGB needs a complete make over! The hybrid CHR - HOT AC is not working. Grow some balls and be a full time CHR, get rid of Steve and DC, hire a midday talent and get a real night talent.
Maybe with these adjustments we'll see a shift in 12+ numbers, which presents a reflection of the overall market view. ;D
