Adult Modern/Alternative

I have been checking out Star 98-7 in L.A. over the past two weeks and am really liking their new music format. Its kinda like Modern AC with some more edgier alternative tracks. Wonder if this would work for any station in phoenix. Mix seems to be so blah blah with their 80's and beyond music format. Wouldn't mind seeing someone take a shot at this.

Here is their top 10

1 CHASING CARS
Snow Patrol

2 WHAT I'VE DONE
LINKIN PARK

3 TELL ME BABY
Red Hot Chili Peppers

4 SNOW )
Red Hot Chili Peppers

5 HEY THERE DELILAH
PLAIN WHITE T'S

6 WELCOME TO THE BLACK PARADE
My Chemical Romance

7 DANI CALIFORNIA
Red Hot Chili Peppers

8 FIRST TIME
Lifehouse

9 HOW FAR WE'VE COME
Matchbox 20

10 DIG
Incubus

80's and beyond? Do you even listen to Mix?
1- That hasn't been their positioning statement in YEARS.
2- A quick check of their daily logs shows they average less that 1 80's title during regular programming. (Excluding of course any specialty shows)

Er, do you even listen to Mix yourself?

A quick check of the last 10 played songs off of their website shows TWO songs from the 80's (one from Def Leppard, the other from the Cure). This is during their regular programming. To me, that equates to 1 out of 5, and the hour's not over yet (let alone the day).

PS - I also counted two 90's songs during that time frame - They may not position themselves as 80's, 90's and beyond, but that's what they still are.

Pretty tight modern/alt blend, aside from

but that signal is so weak in the EV, my XM is able to blast at least a quarter-mile on 106.7 without the slightest hint of bleed. There's LP, but this is something else yet again.
