Adult Standards and LPFM

I have a friend in Texas that started a station for the Chalk Hill community in Texas..read as Longview, Kilgore etc. Chuck Conrad liked standards, and was tired of the big-chains trashing the format..so he brought his "own ball" to the game, and at 74 watts, and a pretty impressive sounding station..has managed to carve a real place in not only his community, but as a template for what real COMMUNITY stations should be both on air and on-line..and he's making a little money at it.

Listen to some great music online:

www.kzqx.com (and click over the old radio for stream)

and read Chucks article:

http://www.ccbroadcasters.com/KZQX-LPFM-future.htm

I do a few imaging pieces for him, and really think that his take on terrestrial radio's smugness is interesting.

Frank Ferrari should enjoy this station and the read. Good stuff I think.
