It's going to happen someday. It'll be on some insanely high digital tier no one actually wants, though.

Would be nice--then the burgers-n-fries show would have it's own spot, off the TV at work and I won't have to see the immature front desk younguns sitting there staring at it when I get to work at night. Have NEVER understood what the big deal is with that show. And it's on DVD too, ugh, why....?

As they say: "If you don't understand it, then you're not the target demographic."

I'm not sure I get "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" either, but the college age kids I know sure seem to like it.

I'm 17 and I get it, so I guess I'm in the target demographic. I know a lot of people who don't get it, but it's funny in an unusual way. It's one of those things that you're either going to get it and it's going to be hilarious and you'll love it, or you don't get it and think it's pointless.

I'm more of a "Robot Chicken" guy myself. The best thing on there.<P ID="signature">______________

Robot Chicken RULES, no doubt about it...the best satirical stop-action series EVER. Seth Green and company are diabolically brilliant! They've hooked me on Adult Swim, and I can't wait for some of the other truly demented stuff coming up later this year, such as the new series of "Venture Bros.," the subversively funny conventionally animated "Jonny Quest" parody.

Aren't they already a 'network'?

I thought that Adult Swim was a separate network, at least on paper:

Someday there probably will be a 24hr adult swim channel. However, is it really needed? How many times does family guy reruns need to be shown in a day? Besides that, what will cartoon network air at night? They already created boomerang for the classic cartoons adult swim replaced. Maybe they could return those to cartoon network, and reformat boomerang as the adult swim network? Would make more sense then starting a new network, since boomerang is already on Direct-tv/Dish, and on most digital cable packages.

Still, what I think is best is to maybe expand adult swim. Have it start at 8:00Pm like nick@nite.

Are they buying time?

This is an interesting development... Are they buying time on Cartoon Network and selling commercials?

I am old (and probably out of the demo target) but I get it (Aqua Teen Hunger Force). Unlike most of what's on the Cartoon Network it's actually funny and someone took some time to write something creative. I, also like Harvey Birdman, Sealab, and the Brak Show -just makes me nuts. I even went out and bought the Brak DVD's. I never buy DVD's. I wish they would make more. Otherwise the cartoon Network is worthless to me. No entertainment factor at all. If they did do A La Cart channel picking that would be among the first to go. Bring back Bugs Bunny!
Don't tell me about Boomerang. I have digital cable but for some reason my cable company doesn't offer it. Besides from what I can see in their listings it's mostly Hanna-Barbara stuff, The Smurfs and Scooby Doo and I don't like them either. Gotta be funny (or at least creative) or I am not interested in cartoons.

What Adult Swim could do I guess is pick up other adult oriented cartoons, heck even the Simpsons, and make a cable network out of it.

No -- the "Swim" is merely a block on Cartoon Network that they own, just like Nickelodeon has "Nick-at-Nite".

Yeah, they could even pick up the originial episodes of the Flintstones, the ones with Fred doing Winston commercials. Taking a drag and saying " Winston tastes good like a cigarette should"!

Wouldn't work, since Winstons are still being made.

When Game Show Network showed some old game shows with cigarette sponsors, many of those old shows had the cigarette name blotted out. With many of those brands still being made and cigarette advertising banned from broadcast in 1971, GSN didn't want to take any chances.

Hmm, what can I say, I'm 39 going on 40 and I get it. Then again I still live like a 20 year old (and look mid-to late 20's)
However there are some shows they have that I don't get or just don't like, Tom goes to the Mayor (bleh!) the new hair show (are they just trying to spoof anime, or are they also on some strange drugs?), 12oz Mouse (I find it anoying), never cared much for Home Movies, Oblongs kinda grew on me, and they need to do more of that Ranger Smith thing they just showed (produced by Spumco of Ren & Stimpy fame) as long as they can be as demented in the way they did Ren & Stimpy in the early years and not as they did with the new episodes on Spike TV.

Yeah, I forgot to mention those in my post, both of those are great.

Do more of this and less TOM.

VH1 & iFilm's "Web Junk 20" TV series recently showed a clip of this Flintstones Winston ad, but coupled it with an anti-smoking message and showed in a sort of "What *were* they thinking?" context (which is actually the point of the whole "Web Junk" show, actually).

As far as an Adult Swim network - say it with me - IPTV.

Starting next month, full-length on-demand streams of [adult swim] originals will be available online. (Currently only available on Friday nights.)
(Only the original productions are available because it would probably cost too much to get Internet streaming rights for shows like Family Guy, Futurama, etc. Plus FOX probably wants to reserve those rights for News Corp. O&O websites like MySpace and FOX.com.)
