Advice needed on starting up a new website

A friend of mine is seriously thinking of starting up a website focusing on the local stations in his area. Somewhat like the Washington area's www.dcrtv.com . A look at the past and present of radio.

In his collection he has boxes of old airchecks dating back to 1974. Lots of old pics and logos too. In short he has more than enough infomation to start up a site.

Couple of questions...

Logos and airchecks, do you really need to get permission from the station or the jock to put those online? We both heard yes since it belongs to them and no you don't need an ok since all this falls under "fair use". Which is correct?

On the weekends my friend works at a local radio station. Several years ago, maybe it was on this board but I remember reading how it could be a "serious mistake" for an employee in radio to create a website about radio. How he/she could be putting their career in jeopardy by doing such a thing. How is that possible?

Can a local radio station have a say whether or not they want their name on your site? In other words if you say this station "sucks", then that station can force you to take their name off of your website. True?
