You ALL know what I'm going to say(check the mid point selection on the March "Rhythm Dance" Promo Only,or the mix show commercial "bed" in constant rotation on LI's Party 105-it's called "Dance Floor") but I'm curious to hear opinions on other candidates...

I think the drawback to that song though, is the questionable muted or altered phrase you hear throughout the song that programmers might worry about being offensive. I just don't know if that "clean" edit is clean enough for most radio stations, regardless of what it seems to be edited to sound like.
"Thunder In My Heart" is an interesting selection. Good song, but I'm still even surprised at how much momentum this one has early on. Not sure if it's enough to carry it over to mainstream CHR, but with the right promotion and the right ears, it's possible.

OBVIOUSLY,I'll stick with my choice,but not just because it's my record; Cascada succeeded because,in addition to the fantabulous Robbins machine(JP & Co.), while the vocals are 'girly,diva', the music itself is 'hard',pounding,as was the dance version of "Listen To Your Heart" and most of the Ian Van Dahl/Lasgo crossovers'.
Cascada is not a 'pretty' record, besides the vocals, it's 'HARD'sounding,as close to a rock n roll record as dance gets("Loud Enough" is in that category).
Many of the choices listed here are too 'soft' and too 'round',too 'pretty";great for the clubs, and dance aficiandos,but not so great for CHR.We live in a hard edged,hip hop, punk rock world, and the "Rent" song or love duets just ain't gonna cut it at this moment in time(in my opinion,anyway.)at CHR!> >

Good observation on Cascada's success on stations that usually snub dance songs like Q102 (who BTW has just listed "Everytime We Touch" as their most played track this week), though while Cascada's singer Natalie does sounds "girly," she doesn't sound "diva" to my ears; to me term "diva" would apply to a more mature, belting-out womanly sound al a Martha Wash or Kristine W (which likely is one reason why they don't get much crossover on youth-obsessed CHR stations.)
I think that in the next few months more dance artists will take notice of the crossover success of "Everytime We Touch" and start making songs using that Cascada formula to try to make that crossover to CHR. So it might be interesting to see how the new dance records coming out this summer turn out to be...
...and of course the Robbins gang will have that egde in getting their records heard.

As far as artists that are in the same vein as DHT/Cascada/Dj Sammy/Ian Van Dahl, etc. (vocal/pop/trance). One artist that I think who could crossover very well and be a big hit at top 40 radio is Candee Jay out of the Netherlands. She is produced by the same team that had huge success with Alice DJ in Europe and the U.S. Her records from the past year ("If I Were You", "Back For Me", and "Lose This Feeling") all have huge hooks and are customed made for top 40. Also, they have that hard euro/pop/trance sound and have even better hooks than the DHT and Cascada tracks. And she has great videos for all 3 tracks as well, and definately has the look to be a big pop artist. In fact she could stand on her own as an artist (not just a random voice behind a dj. Something dance desperately needs). Looking on the internet, I saw where she is on Neutone records (after switching from Robbins). John P., you should have tried to hold onto her for Robbins. With the recent success of DHT and Cascada, I would think her sound would be tailor made for a follow up.
Anyway, I just thought I would throw her name out there and see what others think. I know the whole vocal/euro/trance pop sound isn't for everybody, but if you like it, I think Candee Jay is one of the best. I was the one that signed Candee here. We did all that we could do with her record and we weren't crazy about the followup tracks so we allowed her to leave the label and try to find success elsewhere.
She has a great production team but I don't think those songs are on the same Top 40 level as DHT or Cascada. But that's just my opinion.

Yeah, "Back For Me" was more back-burner for me too. Heheheh! It just wasn't strong enough to justify more spins on our mixshows.

Wow!, I must be completely in opposition to everyone on this one. Because the second single, "Back For Me" is the one that I absolutely loved the best and have probably listened to thousands of times. I LOVE the lyrics and the way she sings that track, and as much as I liked "If I Were You", it was "Back for Me" that was my favorite track. I also liked the 3rd single, "Lose This Feeling" a lot too.
Anyway, maybe you're right about it not being as "pop" or top 40 accessible as DHT and Cascada. But I tend to like the more Euro sounding stuff that is never going to be "mainstream pop" here in the U.S. anyway. I tend to buy most of my stuff from labels like Ministry of Sound, Positiva, Incentive, etc. that are imports from Europe because they put out a lot of the stuff I like, and because I usually prefer the Euro mixes over the ones that are often chosen for U.S. release. (I tend to like the big "euphoric" type euro mixes for vocal trance, and for house, I like that filtered, looped and sample sound, or the UK garage type sound.)
But anyway, I am a big fan of Candee Jay's stuff and I hope she has more tracks and more success (at least in Europe if not here).
