Yes, this is a radio board, but please bear with me.
Hey, techies! I've been monitoring that virtual live receiver from Lexington, Kentucky on http://dxfm.com (owned by Gerard Westerberg). Now that practically all TV stations have migrated to digital format here in the states, all that I've heard on this receiver is some e-skip from Florida (WPBT) on Channel 2 with the well known NAB DTV "nightlight" loop. But once in a while, a rather potent and loud signal sneaks in and overtakes WPBT. It sounds like Cuba, with many mentions of La Habana y Cuba with a lot of folksy music in Espanol. Is Cuba using the FM standard of 75 u pre-emphasis on their TV stations? Or is it a fluke with a maladjusted TV transmitter. It sure sounds like full FM pre-emphasis, compared to WPBT. I mean, it's LOUD! I also heard a little bit of scattered audio from TV stations from Mexico and a CBC outlet from Canada. The Canadian and the Mexicans sound similar to WPBT. Any thoughts?
