Afternoon host RUSS MARTIN has exited the station.

Nothing wrong with that...his show had reached its end sometime ago(around the time Dan Lewis left). When you recycle bits, you get less listeners.
 
J.D. has been on the air since I was a kid,I hope he can find something away from Russ. I bet Russ' gfriend hauls ass for good this time. :-X

Couldn't agree more with ya...on all points. JD is such a joy to meet and to listen to. He'll be fine...any station would be lucky to score him. And I'm sure he's happy to be away from the craziness that is Russ Martin.
 
P&K are nothing short of GIDDY on the air right now. At first they made a thinly veiled reference to the news, one of them mentioned something they talked about at the "old station" then the other chimed in with "oh, what old station? The one that isn't around anymore?" but left it at that.

Then just now they are talking about how great life is and how happy they are and how they have some heavy-duty blogging to attend to tonight.

Either they saw this coming, or luck was on their side, but I have to say - it's too amusing how it all played out in the end.
 
This sucks! I have listened to russ for 11 years. Since is was in high school. Someone has to pick the show up. I always hated Gavin. He's probably behind this. Hope they have fun bombing with ren & stimpy or whoever those part time hacks are. Calling all Dallas radio stations...... Pick up RMS your ratings will instantly improve. He has throngs of loyal listeners. Now I have nothing to listen to.

JD will bounce back, as he's a pretty salt of the earth guy whos taken Russ's crap time and time again. He'll end up doing country around here, as he has an "in" with most of the stations around here. Wonder if they'll bring him back to KPLX?
 
gobbles and pilly really need to let go of their bitter egos. i mean, after all, they relay the tv guide between an ipod rock playlist set to random. with the volatility of the radio market in this economy, swooning about the exit of RM just shows how out of touch they our with their own reality. RM will be getting paid out more than they will make in their life combined, and is likely already getting offers left and right. P&K on the other hand, are lower rung, and have to search out jobs when they get the boot(titty-baby lawsuits excluded, lol!). the pendulum always swingeth P&K, so laugh it up! how are those bone ratings, lol? ouch...
 
im gonna miss Russ, not going to miss EVERY BIT that they tried to make a show out of. Every segment sounded as if every joke was planned and thought out waaaaaay before.

who to listen to now for a drive home?

I take it as a distinct lack of maturity and common sense. I'm guessing it was put up after 5 pm so that nothing could be done about it until tomorrow.

I'm willing to be that this will be taken down at the behest of the station's legal team.

Word has it Russ was at the Eagle today. Criminy, I hope he doesn't go there and ruin it.

It's certainly bad enough until 10am when ******y McDouche and Son go off the air.
