Read on All Access that Stryker is out as PM Driver at KROQ to focus on his Loveline hosting duties. Sluggo's filling in, he held down afternoons at the ROQ for a stint in the 90's. And then you've got Woody from the morning show at KITS making the trip down for a weekend shift. What are the chances of Weatherly bringing in an outsider for the position?

Hopefully the chances are great....I need a job
 
Why not move Jed the Fish back into PM drive? (Why was he moved out in the first place?)
Then give Sluggo (nee Doug the Slug) Jed's mid-afternoon slot.

As great as Jed sounds for the format...given his age, I think he's over 50 and his days are numbered at KROQ. Very unfortunate because he's still very format relatable...at least in my humble opinion....I listen to KROQ more than most other stations, but I'm outside of their core demo too, so what do I know....come to think of it, so is Weatherly, Kevin & Bean and I think Sluggo.
 
That's the beauty of radio -- if you act younger than your age, you can get away with it! Isn't KIIS' JoJo pushing 40?

This is true, but JTF (who is 52) has been at KROQ for almost 30 years while JoJo has moved from market to market and therefore portrays a fresher voice to LA.

JoJo is already in his 40's. His days are numbered at Kiis. Market to market? He was on Kezy. He's an L.A. vet.

more money than you & has groupies.

Just curious, what years was he there...and did he use the same name? Would KIIS core 18 - 34's remember him? Either way, not that 40's is significantly "old", but it probably is his last major market CHR gig.

I know in the late 70's he said KROQ was paying him $900 a month....I bet it's at least triple that now and I'm catchin up ;).

Wow, thats news to me... Didnt he just up with KIIS for another round?

Forget the exact number, but I recall it being a multiyear deal.
 
Both Jed the Fish and Jojo sound 20 years younger than their real age, which helps. Jed sounds like a stoned-out 30something, while Jojo, with his fake "street" accent (he sounds like he's trying to be Justin Timberlake) could easily pass for someone in their mid-20s.

I do wonder, by the way, if KROQ needs to fill Stryker's slot anyway. Considering everyone's short 3-hour shifts, why not add an hour to Kat Corbett, Jed the Fish and Nicole Alvarez?
That way it would be

10-2 Kat; 2-6 Jed; 6-10 Nicole.

(Right now it's 10-1 Kat; 1-4 Jed; 4-7 Stryker; and 7-10 Nicole).

And give each of them a 33% raise in pay :)
