I totally stopped listening to RKO the first day he joined and won't listen again until the day after he is gone. I finally started listening to TKK after they got rid of the plagiarist. One more criminal to go and I'll finally have two talk show stations to listen to again.

ah another day of finneran bashing.

okay. this might not be the place for it, but allow me to defend finneran. what he did was wrong. but did he deserve to be charrged with a felony? of course not. that was retribution, pure and simple. and you people act as if he is a father raper or something...as arlo guthrie might say.

finnern should have paid a fine, mopped up urine puddles on the subway and got on with his life. instead he was charged with a felony because some powerful people dont like him and wanted to drag him through the mud. and people on this board seem to take delight in ridiculing a man who made a mistake. when will you all allow him to live and work without harassment?

and as a disclaimer i will note that i do not belong to finneran's political party, nor do i agree with him on many things.

Actually I agree with you that his conviction was unfair - not because what he did was not wrong - it was - and Finneran SHOULD be held to the same higher standard that Senator Larry Craig is being held to: because as lawmakers they should know better! Law makers, not law breakers and not above the law.

That being said - the justice system lets too many people lie under oath and picks and chooses who they want to go after on perjury - be it a Bill Clinton or a Tom Finneran. That makes it SO lopsided because Bush, Gingrich and Cheney especially lie every day to the American public after taking an OATH on the Bible. So they aren't very Christian and they aren't very honest. Double standards.

BUT - just because I agree with BlameTheMayo on that point, it is true that
Finneran is just as AWFUL as Michael Graham. That's the big crime and the big sin. So if calling him a "felon" and bashing him can get our point across - great.
A caller asked Planet Mikey last night why he was bashing the Colts on Audiogate and Mike Adams correctly said because it is "fun". Bingo. Finneran is AWFUL on the air. Yes, he was overcharged, but he didn't deserve a big paycheck to ruin morning drive. HE HAS NO TALENT, and that opinion has nothing to do with his conviction.

Who's "bashing" finneran? The FACTS ARE that Tommy Taxes IS a felon and his ratings are in the toilet, those are the FACTS. How is this bashing him? He should not be doing morning drive, he should NOT be a radio talkshow host, he should NOT be on the radio at all.

sure it is fair to say you think he is bad. honestly, i really dont have a strong opinion of his show, i havent listened to it enough to form an opinion.

it just seems to me that a lot of the criticism directed at finneran on this board is laced with hate..

there are plenty of bad radio shows and bad hosts in this city (way too many for a major market, in my opinion) but we dont criticize them as harshly and as personally as we do finneran

Well, duh. When Teddy the K gets a show then we can. Oh no, no conviction for his drunken manslaughter of an innocent concubine. Finn is not just a felon, but worse, he's a boring boob.
