Aging DJ's

I think some of you on here have cleaned your ears with head cleaner way too many times.
 
Hell, I was 50 before I realized "Head" cleaner was for the tape heads and not "Your Head" Maybe that's what happened to me early on...Hummmm
 
First, BIG APE... LOVE your signature line.

Yes, I too am guilty of all of the above. The old CE at an AM/FM station I worked at didn't understand why we wanted to go from 45s to carts. After I finally convinced the GM that it was a smart move, the CE installed dedicated cart players in the FM studio to playback music and a stereo record unit in production. Several days went by before a jock realized we were only playing back in mono.
THEY CHEAPED OUT AND BOUGHT MONO PLAYBACKS!

Bottom line... the GM wouldn't spring for stereo playback units and we ended up going back to vinyl. Two years later, I was out on my butt, thanks to Harris-Gates STEREO automation. Thankfully, the ratings went from #1 to #7 in two books.
