AGM job shuffles

How goes the job and office reshuffles?

You seem to know more than the rest of us. You tell us.
I have heard that some raiding of talent from the dominant Spanish stations is in consideration.
I will say that if Chuck Morgan is making the changes, they will be for the better.

The Trends Showed Radio Lobo is their Biggest Problem.....This Begs The Question ...I thought the signal flip with Wild was to Make Lobo Stronger in certain parts of Town....Ahhh its not Size of signal that matters it is whats on it (see 96.3)

Sales manager is now a sales person...GM is doing double duty as GM and Sales Mgr....Lobo PD stepped down...or demoted....offices are moving around.

Thanks olong50..
Interesting. Lobo has had problems since the arrival of KJFA.
They will have to find a winning team to rebuild the station and compete.
There are some former Univision programming and promotion types on the loose.
Can they be lured back to Albuquerque? Time will tell.

Wild will always be a second banana. Poor signal..and really, do we really need a second
hip-hop station?

CC..you mean size doesn't matter? (insert male enhancement ad here)

So, today, they nuked the Range and put Power 106 with Big Boy and pure hip hop on, while keeping the hip hop leaninging CHR on 97.7.

Interesting.

I noticed on their website that former KKSS jocks Julio G and Crisco Kidd are in the new lineup.
Both names have good recognition in Albuquerque..and a knowledge of KKSS programming.
It will be interesting.

So the Range is out..and CHR hip hop on 97.7.

It will be interesting conversation in the KKSS halls on this latest AGM move.
Got to say Chuck Morgan can shake things up.

Just because they were at Kiss does not mean it will translate into numbers on 106.3 if I remember AGM brought over some KOB folks with the plan of beating 770 a couple years ago...... I would think that we will hear a new format on 97 soon..........I would bet some type of 30 yearold female targeted hot ac

Any way as always GOOD Luck to everyone

Double C is el correct-a-mundo! Just because you have KKSS on your resume doesn't mean you had the inside track to top secret info from the PD's office. I remember a time back when the thinking was to get ex-KISS peeps to shake things up. Didn't work as well as planned. Bottom line is this - people won't listen thru static for the same songs they can get from another clearer signal in town. Not brain surgery. Ipods, sattelite, HD, all are better choices than wading thru mud to hear the same music you can get someplace else. If you have a weak signal, you'd better be offering something that the listener can get NO WHERE ELSE. If not, why would they stay with you. When MEGA was doing so well in late 90's it was because people couldn't get it anywhere else. When it got old, or other, better signals copied it.....it began to wobble in the ratings. Kill, or be killed - thats the nature of the beast. Good luck to y'all in the 505! Work hard - where-ever you're at and it will pay off! Stay up!

Scrap

Right on about Mega....Mega 95.5 had a 3.9 12+ in its first Book.....what Killed it Lil Joey The GM making it a Disco Station............
Don't Fix what ain't Broke

ok, let's see. There's Rhythmic CHR's KKSS-Kiss 97.3 & KDLW-Wild 97.7 and Pop CHR KOB-FM 93.3, and now there's another Rhythmic KAGM-Power 106? Didn't 106.3 carry Rhythmic format before? And who will survive in this 4-way CHR race?

We'll see..Crisco has honed his already sharp skills in much bigger Houston as well as a great run here .. He will be a force.
Strong line-up beginning with the morning show. The comment doesn't infer KKSS automatically guarantees success..my point is name recognition is there..and all of them live the lifestyle.

On this we agree..a strong female mid demo station will be a great fit for some group to install.

From what little I've heard about Power 106, it sounds like it's straight ahead urban instead of rhythmic. It's a subtle difference, and I'm not sure it will work in Albuquerque, but you can have a rhythmic CHR and an urban in the same cluster and be very successful with it.

Name 3 in a market with 10% or less African American.

Names outside top morning shows are worthless today. Look at your History. AGM Doomed, hay let's do FM talk again I'm sure Larry still gets a check? Morgan.... Please

My money is on 97.7 flipping to another format. Any takers on this bet? They kept the PD of The Range but moved him to 97.7? Im guessing some type of rock format. Im also guessing Double Joto will be joining Kidd Kraddick? LMFAO!

The cluster I was thinking of when I made that post is Clear Channel's San Francisco cluster, where they have urban KMEL and rhythmic KYLD. San Francisco, by the way, is 7.1% African American according to Arbitron.

My point was not that it would work in Albuquerque nor that it was common. It was simply that a rhythmic/urban combo can be successful.

Question If you are Already Losing to Kiss With Wild and you add Power...You May Take away from Kiss but you will Take more away from WIld and that combo together will not out do Kiss......

I say New Format on 97 How About Heaven 97.7 Christian Top 40!!!!

KMEL is generally listed as "rhythmic" and not "urban" because it is less than 50% Black in audience composition... the same criteria we have for classifying KPWR in LA:
