Ah... this will create some responses here. Here we go...

The word is:

Sirius will issue a price increase for multiple sub packages effective this March.
Multiple receiver radio subs will increase $8.99 a month.
Online packages go from free to $2.99 a month for most packages. "Mostly Music" or "Family Pack" subscribers will pay $8.99 a month
If you are a currently a subscriber expect a mailing sent on the 26th that will offer you a chance to lock in the current rates, with an option to lock in online listening or multiple sub price of $6.99.

Here's another tip. If you call to renuw and instead say you want to cancel, you can get a one year sub for $77. Just say, if you want to keep me you have to give me a $77 year contract. They will say okay, and tell you it's one time.

call me naive, but i just think that it's UNFAIR for the online people to have to pay even $2.99 per month - someone like me, for example - i have a regular Sirius radio and an online subscription - a LOT of times i listen to Sirius on the Internet because the reception where i live (Brooklyn, New York) is kinda WAY OFF most of the time....

I should ad that subscribers will be given a chance to lock-in their rates choosing between online Listening or the $6.99 multiple radio price.

SIRIUS DESTROYED XM AND THEY DESERVE THE SAME TREATMENT!

Those prices are insane for the garbage they now have!!!!

What About XM Everything & I Also Have A 2nd Radio On The XM Everything & That They Put Me In a 3 Month Sub

what will my price be??

Shmee

Customer support representatives at Sirius are now confirming to the general public that the rates will go into effect on March 11th and they are encouraging current subscribers to lock in at their current and soon to be grandfathered rates for 3 years, before it is too late.
There will be a $2 increase for additional subscriptions and a $2.99 fee for the online internet radio service. The silver lining in all of this is that all internet subscriptions will now feature the 128k “premium” feed.

When they present their offer to me, I'll consider it. It's just business, after all, right? I have a deal for certain sevices rendered. If the services have improved then maybe they are worth more, if worse, then they are worth less. Then there is the logic of presenting a non-essential service in poor economic conditions. Is it wise to increase the cost of such service? I guess time will tell...

It's never wise to raise prices in a economic state such as this. But, idiotic execs do it anyway.

If anything, I'll give them 3 years at the current rate to see if they get better, or worse. If not, bye bye..

XM was the best thing to happen to music since radio was invented, and now Sirius seriously screwed it up.
If I could get AOL Radio for free, I'd rather tune in to that most of the time, where it not for the few good
stations left..

What disappoints most is that there is such great potential in the medium, and it's being "seriously" wasted. :( ::)

No.......You should tell them to stick it where the sun doesnt shine and tell them why: "Mel destroyed the network and you guys did NOTHING to stop him"

It's completely possible that could be the outcome of my "consideration". In the meantime I'm trying to give them ample opportunity to keep their customer satisfied. We'll see how it goes...

I guess you were right. The best was yet to come.

Today is the last day to lock in your price for three years. As for internet service, as I said it's going from lousy bandwidth free to a few bucks for 128k. Not bad if you want quality sound at home from the internet.

***
We are offering select subscribers like you, who have multiple subscriptions, a special opportunity to lock in the current low rate on their additional radio subscription.

On March 11, 2009, the monthly rate for your discounted subscription will increase from $6.99 per month to $8.99 per month upon renewal.* You can lock in the special discounted rate of $6.99 a month by choosing a longer-term plan at www.sirus.com/lockin - but only if you act quickly.

And if you renew now, you can continue to listen online FREE for the entire length of your subscription. Effective March 11, 2009, online listening will be upgraded to a higher quality digital audio and no longer included as part of a base subscription at no charge.

Save with Longer Subscription Plans.
Depending upon the Subscription Package and Plan you choose for each radio, you could enjoy an average annual savings of more than $90.00 with two radios on an Annual Plan. Save even more with two- and three-year plans. Any credits on the account from earlier payments made will be applied to your renewal – you'll only be charged the difference.

Sorry, I gave a bad link. For Sirius it's http://ebm.cheetahmail.com/r/regf2?n=200&aid=2070794612&a=0

Call them up and ask if you are locked. If so you did it right.

When they learn that a "decade" is ten years and not five I might reconsider renewing my subscription to the service. Send the programmers back to school to learn how to count on all their fingers. They're so vain they probably think this post is about them! Until then its just one monthly sub for my son to enjoy 44, 47, 54, and 41!

Agreed. Why would I want to hear late 60's music on a 50's channel? Must think we are really stupid, or just don't care..
