AI vs The Voice

I don't follow either show, but is Monday's battle a swipe at NBC by ABC, or just a one time scheduling issue? If AI does any meaningful damage to TV, even if it also suffers in the ratings, would ABC keep them opposite each other?
 
What's interesting is that Idol will premiere on Sunday 3/11, and the Monday show is part 2. While The Voice has Part 1 on Monday, and it continues on Tuesday. So there's an overlap, with Idol getting an exclusive night to attract viewers. It will be interesting to see if they retain that audience for the second night, or if they lose to The Voice. In answer to your question, I don't think it's one time.
 
I think for 7 weeks American Idol will be on Mondays then isn't returning to Mondays until the finale. American Idol will win out I have watched it from day one I'll flip to The Voice when there is a break.
